AFC might be more than two years from opening their first MLS season, but the franchise is wasting no time getting ready.
Saturday, the club hosts the first in a series of meetings with supporters and season-ticket (deposit) holders at the downtown Los Angeles offices of Gensler, their stadium architects. The lead topic? Stadium design, supplemented by a programming workshop in which the fans will get a chance to offer feedback on their proposed home.
LAFC announce stadium plan and reveal offical club name
Club officials are due to present the supporters with new renderings of the planned stadium, along with a progress report, before breaking out for workshop sessions with the fans, allowing them to provide commentary regarding stadium design, technology and programming.
Below is a look at three of the latest renderings as tweeted on Saturday by KickTV. For more information on Saturday's supporters' workshop, LAFC will have all the coverage on the club's Instagram, Facebook and Twitter social networks.
1) LAFC PLAZA
The first look at the LAFC Stadium Plaza also provides a sneak peek at the World Football Museum (below, right), which is set to be part of the project:
2) LAFC SUPPORTERS' ENTRANCE
The supporters will enter the new stadium on gameday via the North Gate, with the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum in the distance.
3) LAFC BOWL
For a view inside the stadium, here’s a rendering showcasing the East side of the stadium on a virtual gameday, as well as the translucent roof canopy – one of the standout features of the renderings.
